Six years ago, my husband and I went on our first date on New Years Day. I've always  loved that we started a brand new year together. It was the perfect way to start. Who doesn't love a fresh start? Because last year began for me in postpartum recovery, and much of the year I felt like a sleepy zombie, I'm seriously looking forward to some personal growth. Yay for 2014!

Jenny's New Year's Resolutions |

1 | Fill my body with more good foods. I want to spend 2014 focusing on the good things I'm putting in my body, instead of just avoiding the bad. I have a few new cookbooks I'm really excited about. I can't wait to experiment with more flavors and plant based foods. This is the year of herbs, veggies, nuts, grains, and healthy oils! 

2 | A more dynamic personal yoga practice. Now that I'm out of survival mode, I want to spend a little more time on my mat to try new postures and sequences. Yoga has been an invaluable tool through all of the phases of pregnancy and postpartum recovery, but I'm so looking forward to moving beyond the basics and having my body to myself for a little while.  

3 | Read. It's time I fill my mind with things that spark my interest and fill me with more curiosity (no more mommy brain). I want to be more of an expert in my profession and more fun at a party. Literature, Pilates, cooking, parenting, fashion, music, yoga, nutrition, pop culture. Books, magazines, blogs. I don't discriminate.
