Peanuts, Almonds, Sunflower seed, etc. Any will do! Nuts often get the bad rap with all the fat but it's actually GOOD fat! You get protein and monounsaturated fats (think heart health), so what's not to like? We like to spread peanut butter on toast with a sliced banana, mix it in oatmeal, or use as a dip for apple slices. And we all know a peanut butter sandwich any time of day can go a long way. When buying, check the ingredient list to make sure it's actually "natural". It should just contain the nut and maybe a bit of salt, but no other crazy ingredients (and yes, you'll have to stir and refrigerate the natural ones). Our favorites right now are the Kirkland natural peanut butter from Costco and Trader Joes Creamy Salted Peanut Butter.
